Interislander has gone cashless
Interislander is no longer accepting cash at our terminals and onboard ferries.
This enables us to keep our outlets open longer throughout the journey for passengers to access and enjoy. Going cashless also supports faster and more efficient service, and increases the safety and security of passengers and staff.
Interislander has joined a number of other businesses in moving to cashless purchasing. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of cash internationally has declined significantly and it’s now common for retailers and service providers to only accept electronic payments.
Passengers have a number of options to pay, including debit and credit cards via eftpos or payWave, as well as via smartphones with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Should any passengers require support, our terminal staff and on-board crew are there to help.
The move to cashless happened on Monday 2 September.
