Kaitaki is a te reo Māori word meaning 'challenger' and is Interislander's largest ferry with a capacity of 1,000 passengers and 60 crew.

Aratere means 'quick path' in te reo Māori and can carry up to 600 passengers and 31 crew.

Kaiārahi is a te reo Māori word meaning 'leader' or 'guardian'. Kaiārahi can carry up to 550 passengers and 65 crew.
